JBA HighFlow CATS or Solo High Flow CATs?
Ok guys let me get your thoughts on this. Ted Jannetty carries the JBA's and if he has them makes me think they are a decent product. But I hear alot about the Solo's. Can people that have them chime in and tell me about any issues they have had.
I did read on the Solo DIY and issue with the gaskets. Things like that and CEL stuff and anything else is what I want to know. Also did any of you do a before and after dyno run? Thanks Ahead of Time. Scott |

i would go with solo if you dont want to tune it and i would go with jba if you plan on tuning it bec solos are pretty pricey but they really are the best money can
buy they sound sick with a muffler delete ive heard them in person |

We carry both and haven't had many complaints on either. The Solo's seem to fit great and we haven't heard of to many cel's on them. That being said we'd probably put them ahead of the JBA's.

The solo's don't fit as well as the new buyer expects them to, but if you follow the advise in the diy, it's easy to get them installed. I suggest you have a competent helper for install day.
I had one rear O2 sensor screwed directly into the pipe with no extender for a few days. It never threw a CEL. The only problem i ran across that reliably threw a CEL was a leak at the manifold flange. You just have to be careful lining everything up before you tighten down the bolts, and be sure not to over-torque. Over-tightening the bolts resulted in a leak at the flange every time. 18-20 ft/lbs has worked like a charm this last time through.

Go with the Solo's. Great product, no CEL, and easy installation. Did it myself in my driveway, took me a couple hours. Sound great too!!

Sorry to bring back this thread, but are solo high flow cats still the best even though thy use 409 steel instead of 304?

Meh. The rest of the exhaust is 409 if you haven't bought a cat-back yet.
I would like to hear the difference in the jba. My solo's sound great, but i don't get the feeling that their product is worth the price difference. I would be inclined to try the jba's even though i already have the solos installed... If that makes your decision any harder .

I also LOVE the smell. We are lake-rats, and it reminds me exactly of a boat smell.

How much do you notice the gas smell with good high flow cats like Solo? I've definitely noticed it when I removed my cats, but wouldn't expect it to be bad with good high flow cats - by good I mean ones that actually work as opposed to the ones that just enable you to pass a visible inspection.

I'm selling my solo cats. They were great and sounded good, but I got a set of LTs, so don't need them anymore. As for smell, I think I noticed a small difference, but nothing major. Here's the listing if you're interested:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=235759 You can save quite a few bucks. These are for the L99, and they run about $675 new. They don't throw a CEL and don't require tuning.
