Question How can I shuffle songs with an Android via USB?

I found out that the USB connection produces much better sound quality compared to an aux cable. I am having a problem though. When I plug in my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy it pops up on the radio and music comes on and says USB indexing below...The music plays great but it plays in order by artist. I even changed the setting on the radio that turns shuffling on but it did not work. I think it might be the USB indexing that is causing this problem...what is it and how do I get songs to shuffle? Thanks!

Did you just use your charge cable to connect to the usb? I have the verizon galaxy nexus and would love to stream pandora or play my mp3 files into the car, but I thought it was for Apple products only so I never tried messing with it.

I attempted this with with the Samsung galaxy s2, but came up with a software error every 2 songs. I just use the bluetooth from my phone, or my old ipod. It became a big hassle trying to reconnect it after every 2 songs.

Did you wait for it to complete its' indexing? No control to do anything 'til it completes... at least in my car.

Would I have to wait every time for it to stop indexing or is it a one time thing... It was taking a while

Same as using a thumb drive. It has to finish indexing before you can control it or even change songs. It will do this every time, if you have a lot of music on your device it can take some time. I use an Ipod and have no problem. It picks up where it left off every time. The head unit doesn't have to index every time you start your car.

It will index again if removed from the car. My flash drive "re-indexes" very quickly (about 2 mins) if/when it decides to do so randomly (32GB drive)...
