Doesn't really state why he does that. Last I heard, Lex Luthor was the President of the United States in the comics. Maybe Lex has turned America into a dictatorship or something, and Superman feels he can no longer be a part of the country as Lex has destroyed. I'm just saying, lets not be too quick to judge until its revealed why he's renouncing his citizenship. Just sayin.
