How long does it take before your battery is dead ?
Hello,
I recently asked about the battery tender so I have all the info on that thanks. Next question is; How long does it take before your battery is dead when parked for days? 3 weeks? 4 weeks? The reason is my friend who used to work at a dealer tells me that there is a TSB on the batteries and that if a dead battery after sitting is an issue for you they will put a bigger battery in for you. Anyone heard of this or had it done ? Anyone have a copy of the TSB?

That a new one. I never let mine go dead. So I can't really tell you how long it takes.

That is a good one. Weather is going to have a lot to do with how long it holds a charge. Cold weather is very hard on a battery. I bought a battery tender to put on mine while is sets up during bad weather. You can buy them for around $20.00

It goes dead after like a month standing by with all those electronics on board. I was just wondering if anyone knows more or less exactly how long it is before it's dead. Anyway my GM tech friend says that the camaro comes with a wimpy battery and that they will replace it with a strong one if it's an issue for you.

You just open the door with your key, open the hood, and connect to the special camaro jump start terminals. You would or wouldn't be surpised if they put an insufficient battery in the car? Not sure if it's a typo or you are joking.

It's not something I've heard a TSB for around here, though I'm not sure I know of anyone who's left their car alone for months on end, either. Pretty tough to do when its so fun to drive. It'll be interesting to see if this is a problem that becomes apparent after this winter as people are getting their cars out of hibernation (and some of them don't use tenders). But...just on a hunch...I kinda doubt it's going to be a problem... |

oh, if you let it sit for about three or four weeks it will be dead for sure.. I know.. It happened to me. I remember looking at dead camaros on the lot also.. If you let them sit they die.

I'm gonna have to disagree mine sat on a lift with no motor for 40 days and I specifically asked the tech if the battery went dead and it had not. Perhaps you got a bad one? Or you have after market stuff plugged in that is drainin it? I know on my old car if my sound system was on for more than 15 seconds with the car off the battery would die lmao.

That is good to know. I tried that with the Corvette and it almost didn't start after setting most of the winter so started putting a battery tender on it.
