Car lost power?
So when my car was still new (to me) it would FLY when flooring it, but now it just feels so lazy, like it doesn’t wanna move fast anymore. It’s still only got 8900 miles on it so it shouldn’t be anything major.
I’ve always put premium gas in (maybe it’s shitty premium idk), I’ve recently changed the oil. But I have beat on the engine too hard by accident about a month and a half ago (keeping it redlining), so I’m wondering if it’s the spark plugs? A friend put his ear next to my motor and said my spark plugs were bad (not too bad but you could tell). What spark plugs do you guys prefer that’s GOOD? It could just be traction control too but it still launched way faster before than now. |

You can also purchase these from ZZP they're equally as awesome https://zzperformance.com/collection...um-spark-plugs

I run the NGK 6510s gapped at 0.022" and they work very well.

I've noticed this as well. Have you timed your 0-60?

What all have you done to the car? I've found certain mods have a negative impact until paired with other supporting mods or until tuned for properly.

My tires are at the wear bars and I find that the traction control is over controlling with the power because of it. I don't even think about gunning it at a red light if it is on. Just my personal experience. Hope you can figure everything out.

100% stock I'd say 5.6 to 4.9s is your 0 to 60 spot you don't generally get any faster then that until your tuned with full bolt-ons and change tires/wheels. Could be the changeover in winter to summer blend. Another thing to take into account is if the car seems louder in the engine bay area you could have a leak.

Can you post your best 0-60? I got 5.3 but somehow I consider mine a bit lazy too... maybe we have the same problem.

I’ve always been able to get a 5.7 or a 5.8 before I took it in and now the best I can get is a 6.8.
The only difference between now and then is tires. Before I had the stock tires that were starting to wear out. Now I have a nice set of Bridgestone Serenity Plus tires on there and I'm getting lower times. The tires couldn't be worse? They're like 4 times the price. PS: If you're reading this and want a whisper quiet tired that gives a comfortable ride, get the serenity plus

Stock tune does weird shit under different conditions. Try warming the tires up sitting at a stop light and not slamming it but barely giving it like 15% throttle and then going. Should get you fairly consistent 5.5 to 5.6s. Tire and wheel size is a huge factor when i had the 20s 4.8s was my best i averaged 4.9 to 5.2s. When i put the 17s on granted i had drag radials i got consistent
4.4s with a few PB 4.2s. I think a lot had to do with the 40lbs.+ reduction in rotational mass.

I wouldn't go over a 275 wide tire, tbh you could get a 305 that's garbage if it's a cheap tire.

Honestly if your looking for quick 0 to 60 or dragstrip anything larger then an 18" wheel and tire is gonna be an anchor in the 60ft. Remember the larger the wheel and tire the more rotational mass to move forward. Not saying you can't find a lightweight 19 or 20 but like gino said a good tire at those sizes is going to cost a small fortune.
