Now I know this is an Auto 6th gen. I wonder if the LT1 manual will be able to hit 60 in first where the auto hits seconds in this video.

Btw that looked pretty damn fast. Starting to drool more and more over thes new SS
No, it did not. Pretty sure. Probably have to shift at 54 or something.

Wow I'm impressed. I don't see how anyone can hate on the new camaro, it looks gorgeous and its a beast.

If that dyno is accurate thats awesome... very small loss! ZL1's lose 80-100hp going to the wheesls :/.

Dyno graph, look at the torque curve. here is a small write up.

While we’re no mathematical golfers, if you factor a 15 percent drivetrain loss, the Camaro LT1 looks like it’s cranking out a little extra horsepower than the factory 455hp number suggests. Eddie over at Addiction Motorsports casually mentioned that most C7 Corvettes show similar wheel horsepower and torque numbers. With the C7’s LT1 sitting with a factory rating of 460 hp, this may hint at some hidden performance advantages from the Camaro SS LT1’s package.

However, the truly impressive thing about the LT1 is simply how fat the torque curve is, with 350 lb-ft of torque cranking up from 2,000 rpm all the way to 6,000 rpm, with peak torque being found between 4,000 to 5,000 rpm. Peak horsepower is found around 6,000 rpm, but there is a curious dip in torque just after 6,000 rpm.

Chevy didn't give the 5 HP bump for NPP exhaust. Also nothing given for the shortie headers. I wonder if they used the LT1 SAE certification from the 2014 C7's and the Camaro engine is actually making more. I.e. didn't retest for the headers. Also consider SAE test says within 1% (plus or minus 4.55 HP here).

Similar to LS engine I've owned, engine comes alive over 3000 rpm. At 6000 rpm... SHIFT

The 15% for driveline loss is a rule of thumb, not a hard fact. At 405/405 they had 12.3% loss with a 455/455 rating.

Actually it's only a 10.9% loss from 455 to 405.42. 12% loss seem to be the norm with these new cars with electric steering. My guess since this car had the NPP that it was pushing 460hp or the same as the Vette. That would give it still only a 11.9% loss.

Right! I did it backwards. I'm wondering if they just used the LT1's 2014 certification and those shortie headers are also adding more

See, I was wondering if the equal length runner manifolds on the C7 actually enabled the NPP exhaust to flow better and, thus, gave a 5hp bump, while the tri-y headers didn't have as much of a benefit, and thus no extra 5hp rating from the Camaro.

No, the Vette is rated 460 with NPP exhaust. In no way shape or form is a standard exhaust manifold going to outperform a tri-y header.

I didn't think they could use an SAE rating if it is not the identical engine.

Are the exhaust manifolds considered to be a part of the engine though?
