If I recall, the rebirth of the Z/28 was a little late in coming for 2014. I would expect the same strategy for 2016.

The Z/28 or Z28 has been different things over the years. Its very possible to say the next Z may not be at the same level of track stardom the current Z/28 is at. Who knows, the next Z28 could essentially be the same thing as a current 1LE. Nobody knows.

Frankly, I don't really know what 'global' even means . Ford has made a lot of noise about the new Mustang being a 'global car,' and before the vehicle was revealed, a lot of folks were expecting a smaller, lighter Mustang. That didn't happen. Apparently, for Ford, 'going global' means little more than conforming to European safety standards and adding a 4-cylinder engine and IRS. |

Yeah the early rumors about the 6th gen talked about a much more involved global presence...not sure if those are still in play though considering developments in certain overseas markets.

I believe GM effectively pulled Chevrolet from Europe.
The true test of the global nature of the car would be to badge it as an Opel/Vauxhall for Europe. I think Corvette is still being sold but mostly as just that.......Corvette.

The next SS could be a z28 as well...considering the SS moniker is now it's own car.

I think Europe is a pretty small market regardless of engine. Everyone keeps forgetting about gas prices. If it goes up to over $4 gallon for reg nationally in the US, buying habits change. At $5/gal things get a lot different. In Europe it is $8+/gal now. Chevy/Ford are planning on $5/gal soon. Inflation has got to kick in once this artificially free money is done, I am thinking around the next presidential election.
If the Camaro does not have a low fuel cost motor option then it must move up market IMO, compete more as a Corvette, and sell at lower volumes.

I don't care what you guys are saying. The next Camaro will be based on the upcoming Cadi ATS coupe. The LT will have the 2.0 l turbo, LS gets the V6 and the SS will have the V6 twin turbo. And it will beat your current Camaro on the track. The V8 will be reserved for whichever Z designation they want to roll out. As a bonus they'll all get over 30 mpg.

You couldn't be more wrong. Chevrolet is now thw shirt sponsor of the Manchester United Football Club, one of the most highly supported soccer teams in the world. No way that happens and GM pulls Chevy from Europe.
