Yes we all no that a tune will get you the best gains. But how is this guy gapping a gt without a tune. I woulda thought even with a tune the gt would win. Im guessing u guys r assuming his buddy is in the gt and letting him win?

Proof is coming on this matter. Steve @ ZZP will be handling it. What I said was 100% correct.

I'm still waiting when you are gonna post a fast time slip. Sorry, I have businesses to run, I can't hang out on forums all the time. Curious what commentary will be when I post a 10 second pass. It's coming soon. I really don't care what you are buying. I will continue to have the fastest 2.0 car. I will continue to share what I have learned. If others want to listen and make their stuff fast, that's on them. I've shared the exact formula to achieve what I have done. I'll even share what is exactly done when I go 10's so others can replicate.

he actually pulled a better 60' than i did, so he technically "drove it better" than i did, im just scrawny, so i get the weight advantage win. he made 2 passes, Matt made 2 passes, and i made 1. we figured out the weight difference with all 3 of us, and Matt (our most experienced driver, the guy with the 8 second FWD grand prix here) guessed what my time would be within .01x based on the weight difference alone. i really think you need to take a step back, and look at facts here. whether you like the guy or not, i think you are taking it a bit too far. 2 people with near identical driving ability will have a difference in ET every single time if there is a significant weight advantage. our goal was to run 11's that day with allen driving. it wasnt quite there, so we put my skinny ass in the drivers seat, and it did it. goal achieved. its a team effort, and we were successful. we were the first in the 11's with a 2.0 camaro, which was the goal here. |

as with just about every modern vehicle in the past few years, everything is airload based.
without manipulating the MAF signal in order to trick the computer into thinking it isnt making any power, (make it think it isnt flowing as much air as it is) you will gain near zero with the stock tune, and bolt on stuff. the computer has torque targets, and airload targets and once met, it will literally close the throttle, or open the wastegate slightly to maintain the desired power level. in our experience, on our dyno, while swapping parts, and making back to back pulls, there is low single digit HP to be had from intake/exhaust etc with a stock tune (assuming the intake doesnt mess with the MAF flow too much, but if it does, it trips a code anyways) these cars, and most modern cars, are designed to reach a desired power level at any given circumstance. doesnt matter if you are in new orleans, and below sea level, or in denver, and 5000' elevation. the computer has a desired airflow that once met, it stops you from surpassing......until you shut all that crap off, there is not going to be any huge gains. splitting hairs, yea, you 'might' make a couple more HP, but were literally talking single digits here. |
