There is still some of us around. I have 4 of us who go to cruises and car shows on a weekly basis. In fact there are car shows every weekend from now till the end of September. Don't know of many in CT but there are a bunch in RI and MA.

It's basically crickets people either sold their cars or don't go to shows anymore. The RICOA replacement had a promising premise but it was soundly ruined by the same thing that prevented me and others from going back "Not counting the food in that decision.". I had a few people try the 2nd year and they were from MA and CT and experienced the same insular culture when trying to socialize as a new camaro owner as I saw happening that first year. Sadly with Nick Mollo's departure and Phil's abrupt and heartbreaking departure the club didn't stand a chance I know there's a few people still kicking around but with nobody who used to be able to reel in and corral the group as one group of people instead of fractured cells it was inevitable the concept of NEC5 would die off. It's wholly unfortunate to I really found a lot of good friends and cool people to hang with and learned a ton those first 3 years from the members. There are still groups out there I know NHMUSCLECARS has a decent Camaro base who love helping new people and Savage Camaros outside of Northeastern MA is a very fast growing group with tons of Camaros but supplemented well by other cars and a let's have fun first mentality. Sadly people don't like to travel for get togethers like they used to I enjoyed the day trip with a group to a show in RI or CT more then the shows sometimes but you rarely saw southern new England people come north for anything outside of a few years of the Merrimack, NH Budweiser Plant Show put on by ECCC and even that kinda dried up.

Still Here but NOT
I'm still here, but relocated to South Carolina. I retired from work in June 2017. I couldn't afford to retire in CT with all of the taxes, so we packed up and moved south. I can enjoy my Camaros all year long here. I miss the NEC5 guys the most. If anyone is interested in moving down here let me know. So far it's been awesome.

I'm in Putnam CT very northeast corner. I follow New england camaro firebird club on facebook and try to do a couple events or cruises. Feel free to shoot me a message to do something, I usually travel about an hour to do things. Went to slowhawks open house. did a fall cruise with NECF

Part of the problem is, people ask questions and get a canned response of "use the search function" instead of engaging in meaningful conversation, regardless if the topic has been covered before. It can be offensive to someone who just wants a simple question answered. So then here we are, discussing how quiet the forums are. Maybe we should all just use the search function so we dont have to have an active forum... Just sayin....

No sense in going there. The New England crowd seemed to be pretty friendly. I have had several of them to my house and they are all great. Willing to help with mods and tools etc. That is what the hobby is all about. I am kind of far away or I would attend more events, not because I like shows because I don't, but I like the people!
Green Hornet, I was there too for a while. Sorry I missed you.

The forums are dying due to other social media. The questions now have been asked 100's of times in the past. The motor has been out since 1997. There are also many people love like to fight with answers people give. Reason a lot of us older members just wont respond on threads. Not worth it anymore.
