Driving through a gas station I was being oggled by two cops, and when I went around them one of them said, very loudly, in public in front of other people, "Hey! You wanna race?!" All I could do is smile akwardly lol.

+1 I'm not going to read anymore into it than simply the cop smoked the OP knowing he couldn't do crap about it... I think its funny.

I have had a cop rev on me at a light before. When it turned green I goosed it a little just being funny and he pulled me over. Good news was that he was just a car guy with a sense of humor and wanted to check out the car.

That's funny after you probably work through the initial "are you freakin' kidding me moment"

I pass through a nice little town on my way into work that patrols speeders and stop sign runners incredibly diligently in unmarked cars. The cop sits on a little side street and I give him a little smile when I come to a COMPLETE stop and slowly accelerate away. I'm sure he loves the radar detector as well...

Ok, so I see four choices:

1) D-bag trying to trick you into screwing up.
2) Gear head having some fun
3) Emergency call - time to bust some dirtbags
4) Donuts

I'm going with #4
The other choices are seriously lacking in entertainment value.

I respect the police but I refuse to let that stop me from poking a little fun.

one of my buddies that's a local officer and I once messed around when I was in my GN. He kept reving next to me. I was on drag radial and they were warm so I just stood on it...no brake boost. needless to say, no tire spin and ate him pretty hard. it was a 45mph speedlimit so I let off immediately. I didn't want to put him in a bad spot. LEO's are real people too...I just wouldn't want to put one in a 'doing my job' position.
