But GM's obviously being obstinate and ignoring the issue I hate to say it but I believe that the only way to get GM's attention on this issue is to; 1) Have ZL1 1LE Owners to continue to report this issue to GM then invoke the Lemon Law and return the Car after failed attempts from the Dealer to correct it. Merry Christmas P/H Btw, I have lost faith in the "Ask Al" as they stray from the true Technical Aspect and Intent, (just look at the Corvette forum) and have chosen to answer insignificant questions that can be answered by reading current GM Literature. The good news is this issue is not nearly as bad as the entire engine compartment and underside of the car being covered in oxidation. (IMO anyway)

I purchased my Zl1 because I wanted a car I could drive comfortably on the street but still have fun at the track. I love the car on the street (I am not a street racer), I think would be tremendous on a road circuit, but it is disappointing on a drag strip. When I looked into this car in the summer of 2016 it was advertised as being a good drag car, perhaps the A10 is but the M6 is not. In stock trim my best time was a 12.06 at 118 MPH 2.21 60 foot. Up until the mid 90's I was a devoted drag racer I raced everything from Pure Stock in the 60"s to IHRA PS in the early 90"s, my all of my cars will exceptionally fast of of the lone, in IHRA PS trim I could run consistent one 0"s, in NHRA PS trim consistent 1.07's in the late 80's and early 90's. I am 73 years old now and bought this car to have some fun on the street cruising and taking to the drag strip, I have modified the car a bit and have 652 RWHP and 658 foot pounds of torque, in this trim my best time is 11.72 at 130.56 MPH, with a 2.35 60 foot time, my time in the 1/8
mile equates to a 12.50, from 660 to 1320 my time equates to a high 10. I have purchased a HP Tuner Suite and written a few custom SCAN Logs, it is winter where I live (GTA Ontario) but come spring I am going to fix this problem with or with out the help of GM. Will keep you posted, I want to enjoy the car at the track before I am to old to drive it. If Al is reading this post, I have been driving for 57 years have owned nothing but GM product, mostly Chevrolet's, probably owned or influence the purchase of 100 vesicles (I owned my own business and controlled the purchase of all company cars), so Al please help us. |

The over heating issue on my Z06 is why i did not waste anymore money on a corvette and buy a ZR1. I know that won't change Chevy's stance on it but at least i have done my part. My 15 Z06 was the 1st corvette I ever purchased and it will be the last.

This has my vote too, difficulties launching the car and the random throttle blips up to 4K rpms while coasting through a parking lot were embarrassing and a big reason why I got rid of mine. Almost pulled the trigger on a 15 hellcat challenger but it was purchased on the morning of the day I was planning on trading. Found myself in another c7, this time with the a8 and couldn’t be happier.
Best 1/4 time I got out of my zl1 was 11.85@125 with a rotofab intake....traded it in on another c7 corvette and got 11.62@119 out of it, bone stock a8 2lt z51.
