I told the dealer that after delivery, I don't want their detailers to wash it, in fear of swirlies.

My plan is to take delivery, and drive it directly to a proper detail shop, get it washed and have a 6-month wax put on, as well as window tinting.

Well how much could 4 miles of concrete paving possibly cost?

Am in the same boat. My road is oil & rock. They redo it every 3 to 5 years. However this year, they did all the North-South roads & East -West. Essentially locked into traveling roads with seriously loose gravel. The biggest issue was seeing the guy driving a 1970's van blasting down the road at 80 mph. Exaggerating, but the biggest piles of **** did not care about their own vehicles, nor yours. So it is not really an issue of how careful you are.

My dad was looking into getting the 1/3rd mile road from the main road to his driveway paved.

Best bid came in at $50k, and since it would have only been split among 4 houses, it was deemed "not worth it".

I was joking. There is a reason the county has left it as a rocked road.

Thousands of times Ive have to get over in the grassy areas along the side of the road cause someone from the other direction in an old farm truck drives down the middle of the road going 60mph. And can't be bothered to slow down or get over.

Gravel is horrible on tires as well. Plus a section of my road is like a washboard.

Believe me it kills me every time I have to do it. But I do have a decent garage here at least.

Now that I have ordered a 2016 2SS I will refuse to subject it to gravel at all. But here is where I may be crazy. Would any of you guys ever risk leaving your $45,000 car at a friends house who does not have a garage. and lives about 8 miles away from you.

This would be a temporary solution as I am hoping to move next year, but that does mean one winter season of it not being garaged and being somewhere I cant keep an eye on it.

So again I ask am I crazy?
Storage unit, $100 a month.
