Cold weather tires with performance qualities

Need to replace my factory tires amd looking for those for wet and dry roads in the cold. Not for ice and snow.
Dallas weather that gives us all sorts of weather in the winter.

I know there's been tire threads but haven't seen anything that was specific as to performance in a bad weather tire.

Help appreciated.

You must calm down in the colder months and pick your battles wisely. High horsepower cars and cold weather grip won't co exist. The car will step out fast. Ever notice there is no racing in the winter in F1 or motogp?

Lm-32 is my cold weather go to tire now. I used to be a die hard wintersport m2 guy.. but they messed that tire up 5 years ago with the 3d.

Oh i read too fast.. you have no snow. They are probably better options than the lm-32. Probably a performance all season.

I use MPSSs because we have cold dry days and the GYs were hockey pucks. The MPSSs were very well liked on 5th gen. I haven't heard a consensus here.

My tires need replacing too and the MPSS's are what I'm considering too. I both understand and don't really care that traction isn't good in the winter, but I worry a LOT about the extremely poor hydroplane performance of the GY's. I literally can't drive above 40-50 mph in the heavy rains we get around here. That causes a hazard for people wanting to drive 60-70, and me driving 60 or so is an absolute recipe for disaster.
I do my best to avoid rain, but have been caught off-guard a time or two and it's really been a mess each time.

Understand completely, they kind of react similarly. When we did get rain the MPSSs we're much better than the GYs. Availability of the tires is the issue I have had recently.

Michelin Alpin have pretty good grip in cold and do not make a lot of noise.

I believe the MPSS is being replaced with MPS4S. It is supposed to be even better and is being used as OEM on cars such as Ferrrari, Porshe, Mercedes-AMG etc.

I will have to look into them, I had to go with a tire I wasn't really happy with, but the only thing available in my sizes. They make an all around great street tire.

I thought the Continental Extreme-Contact DWS tires were a phenomenal all around tire on my 5th Gen SS. I would not hesitate to put them on my ZL1 if they still make them and if they come in the size I need. I drove with those tires in rain, cold (sub-0 temps), and even 2 inches of snow. And that was with the M6 trans. They held up just fine as long as I drove responsibly and cautiously.

Yeah, there were several good options available for awhile size was an issue, then they seemed to dry up.

Does anyone have experience with the MPSS or MPS4S in 30 degree temps? I understand that grip will be considerably lower but any issues with cracking? I like many of you want to drive the Z in the colder months but I don't want to destroy a set of tires in the process. I have absolutely no desire to drive this beast in the snow.

I drove them in thirty degree temps and lower but it was dry. They we're much better than the stock GYs.
