Is this something that can be disabled in the vehicle settings? I thought I remember someone doing this by removing the door trim and disconnecting some of the wires. I'd prefer to have this off but would also not like to go meddling about in the trim if I don't have to. |

Awesome, thanks! I've been thinking of a quick disconnect for the battery as a killswitch, but I'm wondering if it will cause more issues with having to relearn every time. I feel bad for y'all who have to deal with this issue as a daily driver, I think I'd go nuts. I don't typically take the Camaro out unless I'm not going to park somewhere or I can see it from where I'm parked, but I know that isn't the typical use case. |

Final solution is a faraday box/pouch to keep my fobs in when not in use.

Bought a couple of those once I had the dealer hold the car. I tested them and they do work (I was a little skeptical). These were the ones I bought, the small ones fit the '24 fob well: https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Blo.../dp/B0B4DCLY87 |

Sorry, brother, I would've helped and understand why you're asking, but this one isn't something I have or, frankly, I'd want to install...

I am Just looking for a simple short term bypass for any one of the two systems, for example going to the local hardware store or anywhere else for an hour or two where I could fall pray. A relay bypass of sorts. Our two Alberta capital cities Calgary and Edmonton are getting hit hard with vehicle theft lately.

And one of the first things the thieves do is rip out the OnStar components or kill the power to it. Their ability to track and 'control' the car works well for when your teenager doesn't come home by curfew. But a thief will have it disabled before they leave your driveway.

Looking for a kill switch? You can always put an inline on/off switch on the stater fuse. Pretty easy to with under the hood fuse box or put the on/off switch to one of the wires going to the push button starter button. I would recommend just doing the ground wire so no power going thru your on/off button.
Below is location video of fuse relay and fuse for starter. Chose your location, I would imagine you would get tired off opening your hood ever start but it would defeat the thieves trying to start your car electronically. https://youtu.be/WTQu9U5JXCo?feature=shared Below video for push button start button. https://youtu.be/dYfkLRU6hJQ?feature=shared
