i don't know if it will be turbo or not, but it seems 4 cyl are the wave of the future. People can scream about it, and i don't love it, but at the same time they aren't the same 4 cyls from 30 years ago.

I don't know if this has been thrown out there yet, but I have heard that in 2013 we're getting a new Corvette with 740hp. Not sure if it'll be a ZR1 or not (I would imagine it will be though) but it's for the 60th anniversary. And it will be out the 5.5ltr V8. Stay tuned...

If this economy doesnt get better, I agree with you. I think the niche for the ZL1 is loyal but small. 6 months to a year after the ZL1 release I'm thinking a guy will be able to buy 1 under MSRP.

Alcohol has always been a great race fuel because if its high octane. However, it has always been a terrible fuel in a daily driver that is expected to last more than 500 miles, and start when cold. You are right, though, flex fuel is the perfect loophole around CAFE. Make all vehicles flex fuel to get the credit, and the buyers can just run gasoline in them.

Not likely. First problem there is that the 5.5L is a racing-only engine.

i say give a few options for a v8 like a updated version of the ls1 or ls7 or even a new 396. i almost think in terms of power a DOHC high compression ls1 would be a good idea. but have a new head for it to improve fuel mpg

I work at a Chevy dealer in OH and have a customer (whose bought at least 6 car's in the last 3 yrs from us and is as reliable as a sunset) whose son works at the factory in BG (for 10 yrs). It's supposedly for the 60th anniv and to top the new Viper that's rumored to push 710hp. And i'm sure it would be of ZR1 caliber so it's not like it's going to be a base model $50G car. If I thought it was BS I wouldn't have mentioned it. And its a fact that the 'vette is moving to a 5.5ltr in the future. Don't be suprised if you see this engine in the future SS Camaro.

I don't think the 6th Gen will be out until the Camaro's 50th anniversary. GM needs to pay for the 5th Gen before they move on to the next Camaro. With the way current sales numbers are and most of them being V6 models, there is still alot of sales need to be had before moving on. That would give the 5th Gen a 7 model year run and hopefully turn some profit somewhere in between. I would at least expect them to wait for the Mustang so they can benchmark the Camaro...
