Maybe someone will photoshop the black bow tie on the garnet red to get a better visualization. hint hint! I like the idea of going with illuminated and doing blackout on my own too however, like LbulletM said.

I anticipate a mod with the ability to change the bowtie led color similar to oracle halos

Ah, neat, it looks like the illuminated bowtie uses their "transparent chrome" finish like in the Impala & SS, where the chrome itself is illuminated.

A pic:

Lights off:

I think it would be cool to have the emblems both blacked out and backlit. Since you can't have both, may as well do what people have been doing in the past and just put some vinyl inserts in these. It's literally one of the easiest mods you can do. There were also after market illuminated bowties available, but IMO, they had "spotty" light and GM's version is likely to be more refined looking.

Speaking of the halos.do you guys know how to change the color of the LED accent in the headlight?i know its a weird question but i really don't like the white/yellow lighting.wish if it was more blue not blue blue just xenon white/blue.in the pictures from GM they look great but in the shots taken from the cars cruising on highway, they look more yellow than blue.any ideas?

It makes me crazy that they charge you extra for a black emblem. They have to put one on the car regardless so why no give the customer a choice when they order the danged car? How about a Bowtie delete? Wonder what they'd charge for that!

I honestly think they'd refuse to sell you the car. We're talking about the same company that is willing to take criticism for slapping the SS / RS badges in places that make no sense just to keep the bowties at front and center. Ford doesn't do that with the Mustang.

Give me an option for illuminated SS emblems, a bowtie delete, and then we can talk about why $200 might be justified...
