For the most part, trying to use any radar detector in a city environment isn't going to work very well.. but comes in handy when you hit the mountain and desert roads.

I use yav1 and it still went crazy even after 2 weeks of learning tune. Just have it set on ka band. Alp for me. Plus got stopped twice now and a smile and a few sirs and have still 0 tickets.

I don't know if this is still the case but I remember that yav1 app only being available for Android users.

They added other apps and I think a "official" Valentine one app aswell but none are as comprehensive as YAV1. Also would like to report got my first KA alert after running the V1 for 6 months. It was in Santa Clara for the Bay Area guys. Never did see the cop though, just reported it on Waze to be careful.

From what I've read (RD Forum), V1driver seems to works better than YaV1. Originally it was iphone only, but is now available for Android http://www.softronix.com/v1driver.html

Radenso Pro M or Uniden R3.

That's if you want unrivalled range, MRCD detection, extremely less BSM falsing etc etc.

You won't have much issues at all running them in the city with the proper settings.

Those are the two best radar detectors on the market right now.

I have had a V1 since 2011, haven't upgraded it.

The cost is $289 plus shipping, so not sure what I am going to do.

Prior to this had a Passport, Escort, etc.

Was never a Uniden fan, but I see times have changed.

So, I can upgrade my V1 (which is a PIA, Pay upfront, then send it to them and then wait..) or look into one of these.

I am certain times have not changed, cat & mouse, so will need to have something...

MAX 360 is roughly $500
