V6 diff with 3.90 gearing! It'd be an expensive project but probably very possible in due time. Mind you the 3.90 gearing is likely for the ediff.

It would never work well with the a8... It would make first and second gear completely useless.

I read somewhere that the V6 rear has SS half shafts/ axles ?

The complete diff and shafts for the manual 2.0T can be had for under $2000 usd online.

I know it's kinda steep but if one were to plan on keeping their car long term. It would be worth it.

I'll be driving in some shit weather in winter. I now feel like the open diff is gonna cause major traction issues while accelerating from a stop.

That's a little steep for me... I'm watching to find a used one come out of a wreck or something... So far I've only found an auto correct 2.0 diff with 1k miles on it for $410. That's more my price range. I just have to wait, I'm sure come spring time there will be a better selection to choose from.
