Wrong...just plain wrong. I can come up with easy examples....lets pick on Ford. Did we officially know the GT350 was coming years before its release. No. Do we officially know the GT500 is coming? No.

I think you are confusing speculation and hearsay with actual official information.

Calm down and think about it. We have see two to three track versions of the Camaro testing. We know something is coming. That's all we need to know. You can't be upset b/c you want to know company plans before they are ready to release details.

Sure he can. There's just little he can do about it.

I won't buy until the 6gen 1LE question is answered. The longer GM takes, the more bitter my resentment will grow, and the higher a chance a competitor (like the M2 & Alfa Guilia) will come to the scene.
Did you not see the testing of the ZL1 car at Nurburgring there was a second car there dont know what they will call it but i think it will be a 1LE.

here is a link to it. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=423664

I'm bit confused. When you said you care more about performance, I thought you tracked the car.

Performance can mean different things to different people: drag racers will want faster straight speed, and road course racers would want handling, braking and power.

If your 'performance' concern is more on the street, 6gen would be a MUCH better choice, especially at 40k for 1LE - I know you said it's fully loaded car, but you also said you don't care about interior, or much options...

Anyway,,,, both would be very nice and fun cars to drive, but my choice is gen6.

That can be fixed with sticky tires up front, and square set up like in 1LE. Or you can go to 6 piston caliper.
Or simply, put in some better pads...

I'm going for square set up with better tires (once stock tires are done), with EBC yellow or Hawk HP+, for track day, and I'm sure it'll brake just fine. (and of course, with DOT4 brake fluid)

I've tried race pads with street tires, and that was waste of pad. HP+ will out-brake the tire grip, so anything more aggressive was just waste of expensive racing pads.

In ask because I ran into a deal to get a new 1LE for 40k.
The "1LE" was basically "folded into" the new 6th gen SS. You need to look closely at the two and see if the weight savings, general aesthetics and your intended use of the vehicle are worth the 15-20% price gap. If the phrase "track" or "race" come up anywhere, decision time is over -> 6th Gen

Exactly! We can all pretty safely assume there are higher performance versions of the 6th gen coming out from the track testing we have seen. Whether they are ZL1, Z/28 or 1LE remains to be seen. If one of those names were to go away it would be the ZL1 I think.
I am fairly certain we will get a Z/28 and 1LE for the 6th gen. When we get them is an entirely different issue.

As for the SS vs 1LE, lets also remember the huge difference in tires. The 1LE get some wide, non run flats. The SS tires are not as wide and are run flats...just imagine the 1LE tires on the SS...
It all depends on the "tuning" of the MRC as to its performance capabilities.

I believe the G force capabilities of the 5Gen 1LE are superior to the 6Gen SS, however the 6Gen's lighter weight and higher HP provide for a superior figure 8 performance.

Nope. 0.98g vs 1.0g according to MT.

.87 G on the figure 8 for the 5Gen 1LE VS .85 G for the 6Gen SS. Yet the 6Gen SS is quicker hence making my point.

Not sure where you are getting those.

Edit never mind. You are talking G on the figure 8.

In context I was referring to MT's figure 8 numbers.
