stuck open indicates electrical problem with the injector not gas source and yes parts do go bad. I don't care what you drive these things happen that's why there is a whole industry for auto repair.

Well, it just happened for the 3rd time now. And I"m out of warranty. The reduced power message came on and had to have the car towed to the dealership. Very unhappy right now.

If it's a repeating problem it should be covered.

I have opened a case with Chevrolet national. I'm waiting to hear back from my contact with Chevy. Dealership is quoting me around 600 bucks. Is it a fair request to ask Chevrolet to cover it?

Update: The dealership just quoted me $1700 for a new fuel injector. I haven't given them the ok to proceed yet. Someone please tell me that price is absurd. I hope it is. I'm shopping around right now.

OEM injector part number 12669384 lists for 167, you can probably find it online 100.

The labor though, seems off. Labor guide only calls for 4 hours if you changed all injectors. Depending on labor rate that will go up, even if the dealer had a crazy $150 per hour rate that's only $600.

There are other parts they'll need sure, but have them give you an itemized estimate.

The original 600 seems right, not the 1500 they updated you with. Why the increase?

This has been a nightmare. Ferman Chevrolet in Brandon, FL quoted me $1700 and refuses to give me a loaner car. Stingray Chevrolet quoted me $500 for the same job and they'll give me a loaner car. Stingray can't look at the car until Friday. So Friday I'm ubering to Ferman and paying the $123 diagnotic fee to release my car, THEN paying to tow it to Stingray. I'm informing Chevrolet of all this. And after I get an itemized written quote from Stingray and see it really is only $500, I'm contacting the Better Business Bureau. It's absolutely ridiculous and someone needs to know this is happening.

And separately I'm still not happy that this is a recurring problem with my car since it's been new.
