E85 kit
What manufacturer makes the best e85 kit for our cars. It's something I would like to do but heard some shoddy workmanship of one kit I'll leave in named as it could have been a one off thing or false info. Thanks in advance I appreciate all the advice

Vermont Tuning and RPM make one not really sure on the quality or need to pay as much as they're asking. I'd check around.

I'm pretty sure I've posted this here, and I know for damned sure I've PM'ed some people about it. Don't pay $200+ for an E85 "kit". It is 1 sensor, a wiring harness extension, and some fuel line connectors. You can get the sensor from places like Rock Auto for $85 shipped. You can get them on eBay for around $60 shipped. You can get them from Alidirect for under $50 shipped in bulk. The key is the tuning. You NEED a good tune to take advantage of the abilities of E85. Most of the E85 kits do not include this portion. Find a competent tuner. ZZP seems to have a pretty comprehensive tune. Stay far, far away from anything RPM.

Ya ZZP is going with the it mat fit Camaro approach and then getting feedback from those who install it to confirm I doubt anyones tried the E85 kit on the Camaro if I had E85 anywhere nearby i'd have already given it a go.

As I already explained, it's a production flex fuel sensor made by Continental, a wiring pigtail, and some fuel line. It's not some sort of 'magical' kit. |

Once you install the sensor, you have to enable the flex fuel tables in your ECU. Only way to do that is with tuning software. I highly advise that you use a reputable tuner with experience in LTG and E85. My tuning recommendation is TRS-Fab. Contact him on facebook. He still has the fastest E85 stock turbo car. ZZP is also extremely competent. Avoid RPM like the plague. Other tuners will enable the tables, but not actually tune them for peak performance! I'd say E85 + Tuning is worth at least 50RWHP.

That sensor will work a local guy with anWhite 2016 completed his E85 and with the right tune watch out 50-65HP instant gain! I would do it but the closest E85 station is 20+ miles away from me....

Perform a search on this site, lots of guys running e85, both naturally aspitated and FI.
Adding an e85 Kit, will require a tune, more than just turning on the table, however it is not an overly complex tuning scenario for a competent tuner. |
