The Z/28 will run circles around 5th gen Z. Ppl said no 6th gen would come to fruition and I believe GM said the same thing once but I knew that was bs because you can't discontinue one of the major versions of a Camaro. That would be stupid. While used to being aesthetics over track packs (late 70s-2002) it's now built to annihilate super cars.
A test at Nurburgring should yield 7:29-7:30...

A new Z/28 would be amazing but I'm not a fan of the idea. Its just going to sit on dealers lots, everyone just wants the more powerful version (ZL1) and daily driver version as well. Most ZL1 owners I know including my self drive the car a lot. I love the Z/28 don't get me wrong, but I never would have bought one.
Mustang sales are crushing the Camaro riight now, doesn't this seem like a waste of time and effort? A 70k ZL1 is going to be very hard to sell, assuming the Z/28 is going to be listed at 80-90k good luck!!

This Gens Z28 will be a better value than last Gens. I would be shocked if it didn't sit between the 1LE and the ZL1 in price.

The following Z/28 was seen testing at Milford:
LT4 6MT with different ratios MR shocks with Coilovers Michelins and 335 rears, still 305 front This will most likely be a car with big aero - it will compare to the ZL1 like the Z07 Corvette compares to the Z06 |

This one is a possibility. Al O said the Z/28 would follow a different path than the ZL1 and 1LE, so I wouldn't expect MRC. Can you even fit 335s on the 11.5 Z/28 wheels?

I would expect them to use the same recipe as the GT350R because that's the car it will be intended to beat (and should destroy). N/A 550ish HP (direct inj. LS7 would be bad azz), no backseats, more aggressive MRC, huge CC brakes, carbon fiber wheels, etc. Id also assume these ones will be built in small quantities or special order only basis, which could mean they could even come with a factory roll cage. Basically a COPO for the twisties. Good lord that would be insane.

One dude actually posted a link to an April fools article quoting the 2016 ZL1 Nurbergring lap times Not to mention everyone seems to think the drag strip is the end all be all of automobile performance. and then comparing it to their drag prepped race cars haha |

I don't want to spoil the dream either. But is there any more evidence than a covered and camo'ed test vehicle on a track that a Z28 is in the making? Its like getting an anonymous secret admirer letter, and assuming its from the hottest girl in school. |
