It will spin. When launching, the problem comes into play more once the driveline is torqued. This happens when you are actually trying to take off quickly.
Ok thanks for the info. Yeah I will still get the car. Just wondering if its something I will get used too.

Two days ago I was making a left turn out of my driveway and it bogged down. Only problem was there was a car coming. Really bad timing.
It's only a matter of time until somebody gets creamed because the car bogs when pulling out into traffic.

+1 But if there are a lot of us that report the same safety issue it will get GM's attention on a liability front.

+1. We should definitely all fill this out to try and bring more focus on the safety risk aspect of the torque management issue. It could definitely cause an accident if you pulled out in traffic and were not ready to compensate for the torque management coming on and stalled the car.

Will it actually stall out when it bogs down?

I agree with this being a safety issue. Up here in MA all the roads I take are basically back roads. Sometimes you have to turn onto a major road and cut across traffic where people are going 45-50 in both directions and if you stall you'll most likely die.

Its hard to describe and everyone on this thread is probably sick of reading about it, but basically if you take off and the car incorrectly senses some slip, it will immediately cut power. As everyone knows when you first take off in a manual you have to have a nice balance of throttle and clutch release. So picture going through your routine applying your throttle for take off and as soon as the clutch engages the car immediately cuts 50% of the power you are applying. So you quickly have to readjust and either rev quickly or push the clutch back in or ride the clutch until your revs climb back up. So if you arent on your game when this happens you can absolutely stall it. I describe is as Basically driving a manual transmission that feels like it is fighting back. I’m probably being a little dramatic and it only happens about 10-20% of my accelerations but its unexpected and incredibly frustrating. that is the best way I can describe it.

Will it happen if you accelerate normally from a stop? Like if you're at 20-30% throttle? This could be a real danger for me and where I drive if it stalls out during a normal acceleration situation from a stop. Picking my car up Monday so just trying to figure out what to expect. Thanks!

GM just offered Corvette owners a software update for handling issues on the C7 Corvettes. Im not sure it is related to our specific issue, but encouraging that are recognizing an issue an offering a computer update. See link for info.

K20:

yes, that is my specific issue. I have not tracked my car and have never used launch control so every bog I have described has happened during easy (normal) take offs. If you take off aggressively say 50-60% of an all out “launch” it seems not to be an issue because even if the computer cuts power since you still have enough throttle to compensate for it IF it does occur.

Please don’t let what I describe worry you because The car is still amazing and any decent driver can deal with it. I am just very passionate about this car and this is an annoyance that needs to address. I would still by the car over and over again.

They better not charge $350 to fix the M6 launch issue!

Ha! I had the same thought.

I wouldn't be surprised if they sell it as an extreme launch control update or something.

On a side note.

Would anyone be willing to share their supplier discount with me?

Complaint submitted.

Hoping for a fix from Chevrolet soon! Before we see people getting into accidents because of that.
