Anyone ever consider the dealership just does not want to do the deal, I mean I don't know about Chevy since I am new to the brand, but I have dealt with very dishonest dealers in the past. I would not put it past them to want to back out of the deal if they made it to good to be true. Just a thought.

SO much bad info here!!! Don't worry, It will clear QC, AND, When it does, You will have a BETTER CAR!!!! Mine was stuck there for 3 weeks, When it arrived, It was PERFECT!!!!!!! Don't let a delay ruin YOUR C6 Ownership, YES, I know how HARD it is,

Counter point to above from 2U: Edmonds & Consumer reports have the G6 Head & shoulders above Mustang & Challenger.

Pick your poison; we G 6 guys were great pickers!

PS: I'm a lifelong Detroit Ford guy who really wanted to get a Shelby Mustang.

Good point. See Zebra Corner's YouTube videos that parody those "Real People, Not Actors" commercials and J.D. Power.

Maybe it is taking a while since they are not building 2017's anymore?

The bad part is, you will NEVER know, nor will you get ANY kind of answer from ANYBODY from the local salesman all the way up to GM transportation or GM corporate to either confirm or deny that's why the car still hasn't shipped.

I went through all of this back when I ordered my 2011 2SS convertible.

Have patience , it WILL ship some day and the wait will be worth it.
Yep me too (see below). My original order was placed the day convertibles were able to be ordered, built the 3rd day of production & sat for over 3 months.

Unless you know someone on the inside (at the plant), you will never know why. I couldn't get any answers from anybody. But I was lucky enough that we were starting business with Oshawa right at that time. The higher-ups had a meeting there & I asked them to try to get info. They came back and said it was on QC hold for extensive repairs. The dealer I ordered from just so happened to get a car almost exactly what I ordered (different interior) delivered that day for stock, so I took that one instead.

I don 't believe that. How would he know.

This is where you say. O.K. Just sub in a 18 instead.
You ordered a car...where is it?

They make it sound like it is your loss. It isn't. You have a contract for a car...tell them to get one.

THey sound like they want to get out of it.

You may be right. In fact, there is no contract. This guy never asked me to sign anything or asked for any kind of deposit. I assumed that because of the referral I had, and who I was dealing with, it mustn't have been necessary.

I've asked him if the same deal we had on the 2017 would apply to a 2018. Waiting to hear back.

In the mean time, I'm on vacation with a group of friends and I've had laryngitis almost the whole time, so I can't talk to anyone. Plus I just found out yesterday that a friend has terminal cancer, which does put all of this in perspective. But it my own little world, this is all making for one hell of a shitty weak.

Heard back, and he'll honour the dealer discount on a 2018 but doesn't know what, if any, incentives will be available from GM. At the time of my order, they amounted to over $5000. Without that, it's more than I'm willing to spend.

Plus, these cars now seem to be in demand and dealers that have or are getting 1LE's won't even talk about anything below MSRP, even ones my dealer has spoken personally with.

Mine sat for 2 months before it shipped, granted it was the first week of production, but others in our tpw waited almost 3 months. I doubt there are any 2018 incentives yet. I would just wait a few more weeks and see if there is any movement.

That doesn't sound right. I've never heard of a car that defiantly NOT be released from QC.
There are many reasons why a car may be held for a QC check, but I would guess that no matter the reason, IF it turns out there is something wrong with the car, they could fix it. After all, it DID makes it's way down the production line through the many different stations, so anything major would have been discovered somewhere along the way.

It sounds to me that something is going on with the dealer. Perhaps he sold you the car hoping to get an allocation, but never did, and now he's using the 'QC Hold' excuse to get out of the sale?

I have no idea what's really going on, but it sure sounds fishy to me.
