I have the ARH 2 inch headers into the 3 inch X-Pipe then stepping down to 2.5 inch at the axle into the stock muffler. I do have head work, cam, 2.5 upper and 9.5 lower pulley. I have just ordered the ARH 3 inch mufflers for the ZL1, that will come with the 3 inch connection pipe from the X- pipe to the muffler. This will make me a complete 3 inch system. I am going to dyno both set-ups when they arrive and will let you know if it makes a difference from the axle back.

I'm sorry that you did that. I'd go back and enjoy the more efficient engine with more power and less stress...

I love my 3' Billy Boat!

If you do a mod that drops you boost pressure, you just increased you power output. You did not lose power.

when i was all motor with those modifications i ended up with more torque then HP as well, at a similar ratio i might add. It was a tad conservative on the timing but the car was fantastic.

That is very impressive I am catless. Did you see gains throughout the complete power band? I am looking forward to getting on the dyno as well I hope I see that type of gain, which all the pros are telling me that I want see much difference since I was 3 inch all the way to the axle anyway. Thanks for sharing.

You already had 3 inch to the axle? Then you gained an additional 20whp adding 3 inch from the axle back?

How do you like the ARH mufflers as far as sound?

My tuner's opinion is that the muffler makes more of a difference than the exhaust diameter. Basically the exhaust diameter isn't much of a restriction but a heavily baffled muffler could be. The same would go for cats I assume.

The ARH have a mellow deeper tone also quieter until you really roll in the throttle and they come alive very much so. There is no drone with my setup.

I got a nice gain out of our modified Magnaflow 3 inch ZL-1 system.

My car feels stronger on the road coarse coming out of the corners and top end.

Of course the corners are 60-90 MPH LOL.

Ted.
