limited slip differential
I have a 2015 2SSRS and tonight pulled my camaro in my yard to get it off the street prior to the snow. My right rear wheel was spinning when it hit the icy grass and the driver side rear did nothing and it was on dry pavement? With the limited slip shouldn't the drivers side rear wheel have engaged when the passenger wheel started to spin? I had to try it three times to get my camaro where I wanted it? Any thoughts?

Not if the difference is large enough. It isn't a locker.
When you corner the wheels have to spin at different speeds, so it's loose enough for that. Turn off traction control and sometimes a partial application of the parking brake will help.
