Right rear turn signal error message

Just a little while ago when using the right rear turn signal it started off at the regular beat, but then started beating much faster with a message say Check right Rear Turn Signal.
Anybody know how to fix this, it's getting annoying.

Replace all the taillight bulbs. When one goes the others aren't far behind.

Even light bulbs are so engineered these days they last for X hours.

I had the same thing happen in my car; first on one side, then the other.

The bulb is loose in the socket. It probably has 5 more years of life. Unscrew the bulb from the lens assembly, and then press it down into the socket holder so that it seats firmly. They vibrate loose and then you get an error message. Be sure to check all 4 sockets on both sides of the car. You probably have at least 2 loose.

If the bulb was bad it wouldn't be clicking faster, it would be dark.

He was probably referring to clicking faster on the cluster, which is exactly what mine did when the bulb was burned out.

My bulb is not burned out and the turn signal works, just at a faster rate than normal. I'll do what yzark99 suggests.

Light bulbs have ALWAYS had lamp hour or hour life ratings, it is required by law. Nothing lasts forever. Might find a bulb with longer life for the same price.

http://blog.1000bulbs.com/home/under...e-hours-part-1

The term "life hours" sounds simple but is one of the most misunderstood of all lighting terms. A life hour rating isn't a warranty or guarantee of a light bulb's life, so the life hour rating you see on a bulb's packaging isn't necessarily how long the bulb will last in your fixture.

A manufacturer's projection of life hours has to take into account many variants including the calibration of manufacturing equipment, temperature fluctuations, and material quality, to name just a few. By using a big enough test sample, manufacturers hope to account for any manufacturing inconsistencies, making their rating as accurate as possible.

Manufacturers determine life hours for filament lamps, fluorescent tubes, HID lamps, and LED bulbs all in slightly different ways. Here's the rundown:

*Filament Lamps (Incandescent and Halogen)
Manufacturers test a group of sample lamps by burning them continuously.
The point at which 50% of the lamps fail is the life hour rating.
...

But I agree, the bulbs had been in the same environment under the same conditions and have the same number of hours on them and the others will start failing as well. Buy the twin packs!

I got the error message in the cluster, and the bulb was clicking 3x faster than normal. After seating, the message went away. Both bulbs that had the message are working fine, months later.
