Has anyone here come FROM a '14 or '15 Challenger R/T TO a '16 Camaro SS?
Just curious to see if anyone here has made this switch and if so, what are your quick thoughts on comparing the cars?
1) 5.7L HEMI vs 6.2L 2) Interior cockpit / legroom 3) Fuel efficiency 4) Get up and Go |

I've test driven the 15 Chally, but didn't buy it. Get up and go is not close. Camaro wins hands down. Interior is close. I can stretch out comfortably in both. I would give head room and back seat room to the Chally. Fuel efficiency has been close to 30MPG on the highway for our SS with the auto. Can't comment on the Chally.

fixed that for you Seriously there's no comparison powerwise between the 5.7L and 6.2L. They both are V8s and sound good, but that's about all you can compare. Interior room is going to be much smaller and more like a sports car than a Gran Touring car. (edit: in terms of 6th gen to Challenger) Fuel economy on the SS is better but the RT can run on regular which makes it cheaper a year. And we are talking less than $250 a year according to the Feds.

I have a 2015 Charger RT 8 speed and a 2014 Camaro SS manual. There is no comparison on performance with SS far superior, but the black "suede" interior, driving modes and electronics are very close to six gen Camaro. My plan is to buy a 2017 SS. Enough said...

I didn't come out of a 14 or 15 Challenger RT, but I did trade out of a 13 Charger RT Daytona. Same 5.7L HEMI, granted it's not the same machine as a Challenger, but they are fairly similar.
Clearly the 5.7L HEMI does not compare with the 6.2L LT1. The LT1 is far superior from power to fuel efficiency. The HEMI can run easily on 87, but my owner's manual recommended 89. Can't speak much for interior room because I came from a land yacht. I do miss the room sometimes, but then I just press a little more on the accelerator. If you're serious about trading in, you need to stop by your local dealership and drive one. You'll be impressed. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

Came from a 14 SRT and well, I got to say...I enjoy driving the camaro much better than the 392. Both manual trans.

right now, you are better off comparing the RT 5.7 to the v6 Camaro
now 6.4 vs 6.2....

I traded in a 14 Charger R/T AWD for a 16 2SS and it's not even close.

As far as driving dynamics; the Camaro is faster, handles better and stops shorter. The Challenger is more of a GT car (bigger and heavier) while the Camaro is much closer to being a true sports car (lighter and twitchier). I prefer MRC to the adjustable Bilsteins on the SRT. I prefer the optional natural leather in the SRT , that gauge cluster is beautiful and real aluminum looks expensive. Otherwise I like the interior of the Camaro better; there's more headroom, you sit lower in the car and it's just a bit more ergonomic overall. They're both very nice places to spend lots of time in though. The SRT does have a seriously good 18 speaker Harman Kardon stereo. edit: I put just under 10k miles on a 2015 SRT Challenger before buying the 2SS.
