Anyone know of a substitute for Waterless Wash?

Long story short, I've spent the last few days doing a full strip and seal, and I'm at the seal & wax stage. I'm using waterless wash to keep the surface clean as I go (detailing in pollen season SUCKS!). Trouble is, it went quicker than I'd expected and I'm almost out. Is there anything I can use in its place without water-washing and drying the car? After spending a full day polishing, I don't want to risk new swirls from washing and drying without sealant and wax on it. Do you think I could dilute regular car wash with water?

I was going to ride my bike to the auto parts store and buy some, so I called first to make sure they have it. The guy's response was "I have no idea what it even is that you're asking for." I explained it, but he just started suggesting different detail sprays. I figured he might just be an idiot, so I checked their website and it's not listed there either. So I guess they don't have it.

If you are trying to remove light dusting I always use Detail Spray.

I'd considered that, but I'm putting the first coat of wax on fresh sealant. Will that interfere with the wax adhering?

Thanks, but I can't get that locally either.

No, I would think that the Detail Spray would play nice with your sealant & wax.

Either the WW or DS is leaving some sort of filler/wax down though aren't they?

I wouldnt want anything to go down under the sealant, but it would be safe if the sealant is already cured and youre wiping off dust before waxing, just IMO.

Our Detail Spray has a very very small amount of wax so I don't think it would hurt a thing.
I have many times layed down our Brilliant Glaze down under our Paint Sealant and never noticed it effecting the longevity of the sealant.

Wish I'd known that yesterday! I still have a ½ a bottle of Brilliant Glaze on hand and I totally would have done that before sealing. Oh well, what's done is done. I'll have to do it next time! And I'll remember that about the Adams Detail Spray working in the absence of waterless wash.

By the way, I wound up having just enough waterless wash to finish the car. After the first coat of sealant, the surface was slick enough that I was able to use my Blaster Sidekick to blow the debris off most of the areas.

I alway lay down either Adam's Brilliant Glaze of BlackLight under my sealants, whichever one I have available at the time. It's a great idea.

Funny you'd mention that. I bought a bottle of Blacklight a while back with the intention of doing that last fall. Before I used it, someone said not to because the sealant won't take to the paint, so I never did it. It sounds like you (and a few others) have time-tested sealant over LSPs with favorable results. I'll definitely do that next time with either Blacklight or Brilliant Glaze, depending on what I have on hand. Maybe I'll do the car half and half with both and compare how they last.

BlackLight is also great to use in between coats of wax.
I try not to wax more than 4/5 times a year and i'll use BlackLight every month when i don't wax.
