Umm.. no. On a lower torque engine that needs torque multiplication, yes. That's the whole idea, to keep it in it's powerband.

There's a reason drag racers run 3spd autos and powerglides and do just fine.

Maybe its because the cars aren't running street tires and are built for drag racing only.

i thought you were comparing the stick to the auto but it sounds like your comparing the a8 to the a10.

the a10 will be much quicker than the stick. the more power here the wider the gap will be.

hard to say how much the a10 will help if any over the a8. i suspect with "lightning fast" shifts it will make the car a little quicker than the a8 would have been but we wont have an easy way to find out.

I know the A10 will make a difference, I just can't see it being faster than the Z06 in the 1/4. Assuming they have similar power, the Camaro is probably going to weigh what maybe 400 pounds more than a Z06? I just don't see how

A few tenths in the quarter faster than a ctsv due to weight.
0-60 in 3.3.

Here are the ctsv numbers for a foundation:

You're absolutely right, it's my fault for not searching first. .

I stand by my assertion that this will be a 10 second car on street tires in the right conditions. As for how it compares with the Z06, on dragtimes they're several that have gone 10.4s stock. 1 has posted a 10.3 on drag radials. I'm guessing the ZL1 will only be .3 - .4 slower.

I believe you are dead on. Unfortunately GM and other review time's will be off just like the 5th gen Z dubbed as a12.3/12.2.

We kinda got an idea of what the ZL1 will do for the 1/4 ET etc..etc but what does everyone think she'll do as far as Top Speed? Could we see 200mph+ or something like Z06/Z07 Stage 3 aero type which will give Downforce with alot of drag. I'm guessing it will be 199-201 because they learned alot from the C7Z as far as balancing out the Downforce/Drag/Lift better. But either way I still want

Auto Z06's stock have a real hard time to do 10.5's and they will be at least 300 lbs lighter.
