I'm 40 years old with 3 cars, good credit and clean record. I pay $55 per month for full coverage and $10 during the winter months.

Guys full coverage can mean a lot of things and vary widely in price based on what the details of the "full coverage" are. All full coverage tells us is that you have both liability and collision coverage. It does not speak to the coverage amounts or the deductibles. Both of these details can effect the premiums greatly as well as a laundry list of other factors. Just an observation.

A key component to insurance rate is your credit score. They can and do use any excuse to give a high rate. Even 30 days late on a payment. The bastards all use the same data base so they all know who you applied with and how much. A little $700 parking lot bump cost me almost double in rates.
Good luck with these assholes-you are going to have to let the clock run down
On why they are shafting you.

It really is. But that's the norm here in Jersey. Another reason why I can't wait to get out of here.
