I have had very bad experience with Bully Dog tuner on my Dodge ram 3500, I sent my tuner in to have the firmware updated and it came back with about half the performance it used to have. They said they took all the bottom end performance out to increase the chances of the transmission surviving. I will never buy anything else from them again.
I would aslo recommend getting a JRE tune with SCT flasher.

if you want a truck tuner to make a tune for your car, sure, give it a whirl... heh...

I wouldn't touch it, considering their truck tunes aren't even as good as others either...

get a diablo sport tuner, or hptuner flash.. nothing else wins.

SCTs are mainly for ford, I've seen the SCT software and it's hands down compared to the Diablosport software for GM vehicles.

One tuner may have been able to use the SCT software to create good tunes, but you have so much more left on the table once you get a proper handheld device with a properly backed up tune to suit.

My 2c:
DIablo tuner has many "perks" but if you will ever decide to go with custom (email) tune you would have to use SCT or HP.
For instance DiabloSport don't see VVT tables and some other ECU tables.
I used to have DiabloSport and have been pretty much happy until I needed to fix some issues with VVT tables.

If you don;t plan to do any core modifications on the engine go with DS, no issues.
DOn;t buy Bully DOg, save your vehickle

If you want to stick with SCT - I recommend Dynosteve as he provides free custome (forever - no cost if say you added headers or CAI and want to modify it) tune if you get an SCT4 from him.

Cheers

Thank you all for the Recommendations, I really appreciate it.

Bully dog is now Owned by SCT and I can now do Custom tuning for Bully Dog Platinum units only.

I use the Same SCT software to create the tunes and the results are the same.

So no worries you didn't waste any money, contact me for custom tuning.

As far as SCT being a Ford unit, that information is so far from the truth.

SCT started in Ford Market and Dominates it because of the Talent SCT has on Staff.

SCT Has been in the GM Market for over 7 Years, in 2009 When Advantage 3 was released and hand held tuners became available for GM I tested the handhelds and the Software and was Very impressed with the Accessibility accuracy, instant Support, and ease of use.

SCT is my Primary Tuning solution for Ford and GM, I do also own since the beginning HPtuners which was First to Market and a Very good tuning solution but lacking a Hand held for remote tuning which I was asking for back in 2005.

HPtuners Does own a large portion of the GM market but that does not mean SCT is any less of a tuning solution.

We have tuned over 5000 GM vehicles 4000+ of which are Camaros with SCT.

I have also tuned thousands with HP tuners since 2003.

There is nothing I can't accomplish with Either software.

Hope this helps this discussion.

Ted.
