Magnetic ride
Excuse my lack information but what is exactly is the magentic control option and what does it exactly do? Do you think it's something I would notice on a daily drive cuz I never take my car to the tracks. Thanks in advance.

From what I understand, the MRC system compares the travel on the shocks of each wheel to each other to determine what the road conditions are like and adjusts the stiffness of each shock to the ideal level for optimum performance in whatever "setting" MRC is in. So track stay stiff and trys to keep body roll under control, touring tries to keep the body level on rough roads or over potholes
anyone that has a better answer feel free to correct me, I think theres someone on the forum that used to work on one of these systems |

It contains a magnetic liquid inside each shock, that can adjust within milliseconds,
phenomenal setup! |

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MagneRide - Except GM calls it Magnetic Ride Control and were the first to develop it before selling it off.
If you have a lot of rough roads, bad back, or just don't like that firm of a ride when cruising, you will want it. It basically gives you the best of both worlds, comfort and performance.

In my opinion you would notice it just as much in normal driving....it would smooth out rough roads and make bumps in the road much less obvious....can't wait to try that out myself !
Good little video here https://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/...nt.gsaOff.html

Honestly, I feel very little difference w/MRC in our ATS. The car does ride like a Cadillac, though!(Pun intended)

I am curious to see how this works in Daily driving. I wonder how many settings there is for the MRC

It is the 4 driver mode settings in the SS, Snow/Wet, tour, sport, and track. MRC is included in each one of those settings, amongst other changes to steering, NPP, etc.

This is a great question, one that I have been too lazy to post.
If anyone has some first hand experience with and without MRC in a camaro that would be great to hear! I only make so much in grad school, so i'm heavily debating getting it. AGH! Hope its under 2k =/ |

If Ferrari licenses the tech from you, you're probably doing something right!

Also, one more (silly) question I would like to add.
It will be my first time owning a new car. If I buy my 2ss without MRC, down the road can I expect to get it dealer installed around the same price as if it had came with it? |

Think it would be cheaper to eat the loss on a car and get one with it. It will not be a cheap retrofit if even possible at the dealer.

Would not recommend this; it is a factory option, and Id be concerned with a dealer attempting the install.
