What's inside the stock LS3 resonators?

Hi,

A friend of mine is thinking about doing some changes to upgrade the original 2014 LS3 exhaust system including the resonators.

I could not find any pictures of the inside of the stock LS3 resonators.

I would be happy in case someone would have and share a picture of an opened resonator to see the inside construction.

Many thanks in advance and cheers from Germany

Michael

Do you mean the resonators themselves in front of the rear end, are are you talking about the mufflers behind the rear?

Here's a couple pics of the inside of the mufflers, I believe this is an L99 muffler and a v6 muffler

Thanks for your quick reply - yes, I was thinking about the resonators itself.

Any ideas on the inside and possibilities of changing sound by doing alterations to those?

Cheers

Michael

Don't know if the pic will show with copy and paste (it does on mine). It's a pic I took back in 2010 when I removed the resonators from my 2011 to install an edelbrock x-pipe. When removed with cat delete pipes there was some low rpm drone that stopped once I installed longtube headers.

Any one had issues with the resonators rattling. I've gone through my exhaust system and retightened and checked clearances and still the rattling sound is present Im thinking maybe a resonator is broken or something. My exhaust rattle over takes the beautiful cam lope.

I removed the resonators completely and changed the H-pipe in front of them to an X-pipe on my 2010 SS and noticed little to no difference in sound, or volume.

Did this get rid of rasp at all? Do you have LT headers on?

I switched from H to X-Pipe the rasp got worse. I ended up replacing the x with a resonated magnaflow X.

With LT, no cats, resonated X and magnaflow oval mufflers, the rasp is 99% gone
