[QUOTE=xgnxs;8400375]FWIW, the new volt is starting almost $1,200 less than the current generation
/QUOTE] That's because the emerging technology continues to get cheaper. We won't be seeing that on the Camaro. |

Gen 6 is smaller and lighter, should be less.

I think at or around 35 is right...damn...wish it was going to be lower. A modest equipped Camaro SS with an auto and PP exhaust is probably going to push 38K.

The Camaro is only getting more expensive. The drivetrain is becoming nothing but more complicated and technological, as are the options. Hopefully, the lighter car will translate into material savings and help offset the technological increases a bit. I fully expect a price increase, but hopefully it'll be in the 2-3% range. I think it'll be more significant, though, in the 5% range. This is a new chassis that hasn't been "paid for" yet.

If history were to repeat itself, what kind of discounts should we see on end of the year 2016's and 2017's?

I hope you guys are wrong about a 5% increase. That would make a Camaro SS a little over $3,000 more expensive than a comparable Mustang. I believe the gap would be even greater compared with the Challenger (didn't look Challenger prices up).
I have no idea, but I'd like to think the pricing will be similar to the current model. Then, depending on sales, there may be a mid-year increase. Something along the lines of what Chevrolet did with the Stingray last year.

Ughhh. The prices go up every year by a few hundred bucks. A new generation should NOT automatically increase the price by 5 percent because of a "newer chassis".

They won't put the price more than 1500 of a comparable mustang, not happening.

I think that it will be priced 5-7% LOWER than the outgoing 5th gen! Lol wishful thinking but in all seriousness I do believe that we will see at least a 3% increase in price across the model range unfortunately. I'm hoping that they remain around the same price point or maybe GM will surprise us and actually price it lower than the current Mustang. FWI I built and priced my ideal 2015 Mustang and 2015 Scat Pack Challenger (the RT not the 392 since it starts higher than both) and the Mustang was 43,700 and Charger was 44,975 so I would expect it to be somewhat comparable to these when (mostly) fully loaded. Just my .02 cents
Edit: Well after pricing the 392 it's only about a 6k increase (5,595 actually) over the Scat Pack so that isn't TOO bad. If I were to get a Challenger I would just go that route I suppose. |

Camaro will probably add two airbags and cooled seats.. What else will it get that it didn't have in the 5th gen? Self parking(hah), blind spot warning, lane guidance, etc? Those are options. Rest of the stuff is updated, as a person would expect from a newer product.
