Drivers side heated seat failed, and now my fog lights don't work.

I really doubt your problem is any different. The remote start logic is probably turning it back on so you don't realize it's at fault until you put the key in and get out of remote start mode. My car is a manual so I don't have a remote start to see the issue.

I wound up replacing the elements in the seat. I cut the hog rings and pulled the leather up around the headrest and laid the new element right on top of the original. Same for the lower. Wasn't worth damaging the foam peeling the elements out.

New hog rings (I bought the pliers) and you'd never know I had the seat apart. Heater has worked great ever since.
