So you ask for advice on how to fix your car, everyone here tells you not to have any work done by Tracy, and then you go ahead and let Tracy "fix it" anyway. Makes sense.

Replace "stove" with "shop".
The difference between ignorance and stupidity. Ignorance is touching a stove you didn't know was hot and burning yourself. Stupidity is touching the the stove again.

RX's bad rep started when he bought the shop from a friend of mine back when the LS1 was still king (yep.. it's been that long). There's a reason none of us locals will go there. I've heard they have a good catch can though. lol

Can't believe I've read this thread in it's entirety. Wow, all I can say is good luck to the OP. Hope you eventually get everything sorted out.
BUT.... on another note, if 20+ people are saying to stay away from this Tracy character isn't it in your best interest to do so instead of learning the "hard way"? (which from what I've read already you have....) And now you're allowing the same person to lay his hands on your car AGAIN? I just can't wrap my mind around that but don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to come off as harsh. The folks on this forum are honestly trying to help you here and I think you should allow them to by at least taking heed to their advice. Again, hope good luck comes your way. I'll be staying tuned.... |

This reminds me of something a friend of mine did. He bought a used camshaft from a guy for a BBC in a corvette. Cam looked vertually brand new and the guy said it had a really nice rumble to it. So, he spent the whole day taking the car apart and putting in the camshaft. Starts the car up and it sounds like a god damn top fuel dragster, shaking and barking. We take it for a drive and and it makes loads of power and just F'n screams.
But, it shakes so much at an idle the exaust pipes are rattling on the frame and it feels like your fillings are going to fall out of your head. After a short drive and some additional tuning we go back to the shop. It's late and he is very unhappy with the cam. So what's a guy to do? We took that whole damn thing apart again that night and put the old cam back in. It had less power, didn't sound as tough but it was drivable and much more enjoyable car. Moral of this story is sometimes things just don't turn out how we would like. We learn our lesson and fix it. If I were you I'd tear all that STS crap out and take the car back to how it was and make it drivable and enjoyable again. If you want more power go trade it in on a ZL1 but don't pass along the issues to someone else. Learn from it, and then move on.
