'14 SS ZL1 pump swap no extra pressure

Hello, I have a 2014 SS with 4800 miles.

I have a car that has all the bolt ons, under drive pulley, and VVT4 cam from Texas Speed. The pressure started dropping to 51-53 psi on the engine. I tried spraying a 75 shot of nitrous briefly, and pressure dropped to 44 psi.

I immediately ordered a ZL1 pump. I dropped it in, did a test hit on engine, and pressure drops to 51-53 psi.

Car has adequate voltage. I've double checked the numbers, and it is a ZL1/1LE pump.

I'm scratching my head running short on options. Anyone have an idea on this? I tried increasing voltage in the tune to no affect. Thinking FPCM, but don't want to go spending more money without a grasp on this.

Does it need replaced with an adm unit, or can it be replaced with a ZL1 OS? A friend is willing to flash it to ZL1 spec and try that.

You should be able to find your answer here. Does your friend have a MDI device? I think you'll need the Adm fpcm or someone that knows how to setup with MDI.

I'm understanding 2012 and later camaro all use the same fpcm, correct? So he can program the one currently in the car as opposed to buying a ZL1 to program?

So you just flashed in the ZL1 fuel system data from two low flow/ high flow/ hot fuel tables in the fuel pressure tables and the ZL1 tables from the desired pressures?

Did you use the MDI or HP tuners

We used an MDI to flash the fuel pump control module itself. I had previously flashed the ecm with HP Tuners with ZL1 fuel pump voltage data to no effect, although it may be required once the calibration was complete to take full advantage.

The modules are the same, and the ZL1 and SS use the same operating system in the FPCM. The calibration is different though. The donor ZL1 was actually a 2013 model.

Leave it to the prosl

Can I suggest you leave this stuff to those that do it every day, taking stabs at fuel controls and data could end up costing you hundreds if not thousands if you make a mistake.

Adm is 2 years into this with no known issues.

All for a couple hundred bucks and guaranteed to work

My .02
