OK, I must give Justin credit for being a stand up straight forward guy. And to Andy at ADM for behaving with class as well. Thanks Justin, you have renewed my faith in you and your publication. I usually read cover to cover and gain an imense amount of current and future info. from GM and vendors. I am sure you and ADM have worked it out.

I'll have to ask WACKER why he hasn't posted up his 12.4 @ 113 mph at altitude. His run corrected was 12.1 @ 115 mph.

His only mods a Vararam intake, full exhaust, tune, DR's.

I see a Vararam vs ADM intake battle heating up. We need to see some actual track testing with different intakes on an L99.
The L99 is extremely consitant at the track. My car runs within a few hundreds everytime. It would be easy to see which intake works best when tested on an L99 down a full 1/4 mile.

What I thought was interesting when I read the article was the praise they had for the stock intake, indicating that it's in the same class as the 3rd party intakes.

I've subscribed to GM High Tech Perf. for probably 10 years now, and was expecting to see the typical article discussing replacing the "woefully inadequate stock unit".

As someone who is undecided on which intake to get (and not not even sure I need to replace the stock unit), I eagerly await the comments and followup on this article.

I agree that they didn't seem disgusted with the stock intake to the degree you would expect, but it was clearly demonstrated by this and other tests that there are strong performance gains to be made by upgrading the intake.

The intakes involved in the test were ADM Street, Advanced Flow Engineering, Airaid, Cold Air Inductions, Fastlane, Late Model Racecraft, New Era Peformance

It was a pretty good read. They tested IAT, rpm acceleration, rwhp, tq, etc.

But looking strickly at max HP and TQ numbers here are the results:

1. Cold Air Inductions -(409.66 rwhp, 408.32 rwtq)
2. Airraid -(405.55 rwhp, 407.36 rwtq)
3. Late Model Racecraft -(404.39 rwhp, 407.03 rwtq)
4. Fastlane - (401.22 rwhp, 398.11 rwtq)
5. New Era Performance - (398.18 rwhp, 402.39 rwtq)
6. Advanced Flow Engineering - (391 rwhp, 387 rwtq)
7. ADM Street - (389.77 rwhp, 399.09 rwtq)
8. Baseline stock intake - (393.37 rwhp, 395.45 rwtq)

In the acceleration test (3500 - 6500 rpm range) Fastlane was the fastest followed by the stock airbox.
Very interesting how Airaid and Fastlane performed throughout the power band

Remember their highest hp were from a company that advertises a full page with them. Just saying.

Funny how I talk about the article and some observations while others troll and talk about me

Fastlane pulled throughout the power band on others testing as well
Moreover, they seem to pull 12.4 quarters consistent when tuned
Padre is proof positive for Fastlane
And I have buddies that are proof positive on Airaid http://youtu.be/x5wdBvmVUq8

Speaking of advertising doesn't it amaze some are walking billboards for certain companies yet they always accusing others

People can't tell about me and what's on my mind
But they do tell what's on their mind
