Your funny! I love Corvettes! I'm just not old enough to own one yet though, I'm kidding! I'd have a Z06 if I still had a good shifting leg & didn't need the backseat every now & then.

Bah, I got mine when I was 27 and I'm only 32 now. 1050rwhp in a z06 moves good enough for me. I wish mine was an auto, shifting sucks.

Andy, It is on the long list of things to do. For now I have a built 6060 on the way. Don't have the $13k to swap to an auto right now so I'll see how it does with the manual for a bit longer.
For now getting a belt that holds is top of the list. Slips past 5500rpm and drops from 18psi. Got a 10 rib on the way. Damn corvettes and their crappy belt setup. Camaro owners are lucky with all the belt options and ease of fitting all of it in.

Only to a certain level. I have had both ECS and A&A, and I have a flip drive. It is good for running maybe a 3" pulley on a Ysi, maybe a 2.9 but a 2.75" is still slipping. If it does hold the small pulleys it typically goes through belts very fast because of how tight and the slip heats them up. ECS said they had to go to a 10 rib to actually race the car, it would sort of hold on an 8/DD on the dyno but in a 1/4 mile pass it would chunk the belt and a 10 rib solved all that.

From my own experience over the last 7-8 years with my YSi...it seems the most important thing with a ribbed setup...is a damn good sprung tensioner.
Over the years I had everything from 6, 8, 10, 12rib through 50mm cogs on mine. Obviously the cogs didnt slip, but just couldnt hold belts to it. Sometimes they'd last a good while, others they'd die after a few short blasts. With the manual tensioner and a blower brace, the 12 rib gripped fine when tightened to ****. Eventually the brace broke. So that was no use. After the cogs I went back to my 12 rib stuff, adapted a tensioner off some Cummins thing ( bought off egay just, because it looked usable. )...and at last the damn thing gripped. That was with 8.5" crank and 2.9" blower. With a manual tensioner and no brace, I couldnt get it to hold boost past about 15psi or 5000rpm. Although by that stage I decided **** this, and decided to turbocharge it instead, which is work in progress Wish I'd discovered the sprung tensioners a few years ago, would have saved me some aggro ! |

Just put new wheels & tires on the car, I have matching 17's for the rear that I'll swap to when I go drag racing.

The only thing I don't love about this car is red, other than that is perfect. Great choice in wheels.
