In response to the OP, I feel that the Camaro has become less of a young performance car. It is a refined, mature performer with a price point that makes the power and handling a bargain. That being said, it is not reasonably affordable for someone who just got their first job out of high school or college, especially given the astronomical cost of student loans and the almost impossibility of finding a job in their field of study.

To be honest I don't get why people get pissed off when parents buy their kids cars, pay for college, etc. I am pretty sure if my kid deserves it in my opinion I would give it to them and if i am successful why not spoil the kids a little bit you only live once. Giving your kid anything may it be a car or whatever doesn't mean you didn't raise them right. Being born fortunate enough to have parents that are well off doesn't make their kids A holes. People need to just relax.

Just my 0.02 on I payed for my car/ your parents bought it back and forth.

Exactly when its time for me to have kids and when it rolls around to driving age/ college age and i have the money of course im gonna pay their way, i dont want them burried in debt at 22 years old, now that being said, i would only do they that if they deserve it, meaning responsible, respectful, and know the true value of a dollar and what it means to work hard for your money.

agreed. as soon as i hit my first career job i realized that with a SINGLE common uniting ideal, age doesnt matter. i am 24 but i have a good time, 10 hours a day, with people from 20 to 50. that is super easy when i work the gov't and it takes a certain kind of person to do our job, so that right there is a minimum common ground. but even working in the automotive service world, new mechanics and the old timers 50+ all got along. i party hard with older people too (rarely now a days, but every once in a while). as long as youre a cool dude then ill get along with you.

this x100000. i hate that. if my parents gave me a new awesome car and all of that, id be ecstatic. i was ecstatic for my 1991 work truck silverado! i guess it is one of those 'haters gon hate' things. i dealt with that a lot when younger because cars have always been my biggest expense. so when i was 20-21 with a new body style escalade modified heavily and a ctsv, people assumed it was parent money and would give me shit for it. id calmly explain it wasnt, but even if it was, so what.

do i think an 18 year old deserves a new 2SS fresh off the lot? no way. but if he is respectful of what he is given, and doesnt flaunt it to make others feel less significant, and has a basic set of values, then more power to him!

24. On my second Camaro. Probably the youngest by a good margin that regularly attends events with the local Camaro club. Still a great time. I don't smoke or drink and limit other hobbies (saves money! Lol). Most of my fun and tinkering time involves the Camaro or taking it somewhere.

Bought my brand spankin' new 2010 2SS when I was 23 in the military...I was barely getting by but I loved my ride. It's paid off now, with lots of upgrades. And yea, man. I felt the same way about meeting up with other Camaro owners lol...
