Actually, chuckles aside (and you ARE all chuckling, right?!), there IS a bond among the "car brethren". Especially when attitudes and egos are checked at the door. Sarcasm, though by some, is best delivered than readily accepted. Speaking of attitudes.

A failing of the 'net, though, is the absence of the "sarcasm dooey", and of course agreement on what "sign" that should be might prove fruitless. In our applications, s/c might get misconstrued as supercharged. And we ALL know who does THAT best. Don't we?
Huh?

I only followed the large bolded material, and I agree.

I found this on themustangsource.com. I don't think anyone can say with any certainty whether or not there will be a Cobra Jet, however, a photoshop of the '15 looks very good, even better than the most recent Cobra Jet.

This is why I can't wait to see a 1LE vs GT comparison....although only for their on the track prowlness. I'm thinking the GT will be a tad quicker in a straight line.

Remember that the GT we first saw the new fascia on wasn't just testing against a BOSS302 but rather a BOSS302S. Being faster around a track than an S in only GT trim would be outstanding in any regard.

God a'Mighty, Joe, what's happening here? I go away for a week or so, and all this warm-n-fuzzy stuff breaks out! In the immortal words of Gomer Pyle, "GawwwLee!

I see 72 is nibblin' the bait again. It's sooo refreshing to see some things JUST DON'T CHANGE...

It seems all we're missin' is a guest appearance from the Pennsylvania Manic (no "a", eh?) and we'd have us a FULL HOUSE (or is that HOUZE) ?

I'm not trying to say that the BOSS 302S is indeed the "BOSS" that's being referred to in the statement of the GT being faster. Honestly, it's much more likely they're only referring to the base BOSS, but it was a quite a sight to see the S out there on the same track at the same time as the new GT.

Yeah, it was probably just another one of those "cooked up" Manufacturer's on-track moments, run at 8/10s...

He talks about the new platform and how it is completely new, and that there isn't anything that was carried over from the S197. He stated that there is nothing in common with the old S197 platform other than the wheelbase. I'm really looking forward to hearing more about the chassis/platform and seeing how much it has evolved and far they went with it.

He also stated that the V8 will definitely be more powerful. I don't know about you guy's but I'm super hyped that the GT is going to have a forged bottom end right off the showroom floor. That's freaking awesome! Slap a supercharger on it and go...No more worries about having about having to to get the bottom end built...well, unless you plan on running some serious boost.

Oh and a little more S550 porn...

I'm just curious (not trying to dis on it, just don't know) but technically GM's rods are forged powdered metal or so I have read, and wouldn't sinter forged rods be essentially the same thing?

They had then on the same track sure, but I'm sure it wasn't to put up the GT against the 302S.

The S is the track only version, and costs about 90 grand. There is no way in hell a 35,000 GT is going to match up to a 302S on the track.

Were 302S cars available from the factory or were they built by an aftermarket company?
