Need help: [Invo or 555] + 555R combo
Need help deciding between these setups for daily(aggressive)/drag ...
The car is first and foremost a daily driver, that enjoys the occasional trip to the drag strip and road track. Currently at 585rwhp (procharger). Running a squared RE-11 305/30/19 on F14's, but I can't for the life of me get a decent launch in the 1/4 or hold power in 1st or 2nd if the foot decide to drop. Hence the need to look into alternatives (drag radials). Honestly, I would be happy with just 1-.8 to 1.9 0-60ft. Padre's Setup Nitto 555R 305/45ZR/18 110V (Weight 28lbs) Nurburgring 18x9.5 (Weight 20.5) Total Weight: ~48.5 + Nitto 555 265/50/18 103W (Weight 31lbs) Nurburgring 18x8 (Weight 19.5) Total Weight ~50.5 *Looks like a solid drag setup, light weight vs stock, but I am just worried about cornering ability (for aggressive driving in the street; I love feeling the G's during the turns and twisties.) --- Nitto 555R 305/40ZR/18 106V (Weight 27 lbs) Nurburgring 18x9.5 (Weight 20.5) Total Weight: ~47.5 + Nitto Invo 245/50ZR/18 104W (Weight 24 lbs) Nurburgring 18x8 (Weight 19.5) Total Weight: ~43.5 *Even lighter weight, has a shorter side wall so cornering might be better; launching will definitely be better compared to stock, but maybe not that great as the above combo with a taller sidewall; has the downfall of the rear tires having requiring a 10" wheel --- Nitto 555R 285/40ZR/18 101W (Weight 30 lbs) Nurburgring 18x9.5 (Weight 20.5) Total Weight" ~50.5 + Nitto 555 255/45ZR/18 103W XL (Weight 30 lbs) Nurburgring 18x8 (Weight 19.5) Total Weight" ~49.5 *More or less the same weight as Padre's setup, but much less side wall (closer to the stock one). --- Or just say fug it, buy 20's with look in mind (ZL1 Style 41), put 20's drag radials, don't look at the weight, and just increase the horsepower to compensate the weight difference |

I don't see any 305/30/18 in their webpage. This is where I took the information for the drag radial: http://www.nittotire.com/Tire/nt555r#size

A few reason, but mostly that I need the wheels/tire now and this time around I don't have the luxury of waiting 2-3 months for another set of F14's :(

Just use Padre's setup.
