It's unclear whether or not they will modify the language specifically for the car - but the intention and support of the product IS there, without a doubt. And for the record...Al has never "just spouted things". I do find it intriguing that some of you are so quick to discount what the chief engineer of the Camaro says - about a prodct his team has engineered, no less - as though you know better... |

What this statement tells me is that the ZL1,if anything, is overengineered. |

Excuse me???????????????? No offense to anyone -- but Al does not 'spout' things (as you put it) without knowing what he's talking about.

I agree 100%. But, a dealer service writer is going to say... "Al who? Let's look in your warranty book." Unless it's in black and white in that book, you might as well be trying to explain it to the wall when you're in dealer's service dept. Service dept people can be a revolving door. Someone at some point may have seen the training and everything for the ZL1. But come the reality of a couple years down the road and you pull into the service drive, often you're dealing with someone hired last week. Unless you can show them something in black and white from GM, you will have a blank stare looking back at you with the main interest of trying to sell you a fuel system flush. |

This is huge and now has me looking hard at a ZL1. The thing that has always bothered me during my GT500 ownership was not being to use the power of the car properly in a safe setting without the warranty being voided. With the ZL1 I would have no worries. I wonder how Ford will respond? I would assume you'd at least need to get the performance pack and additional coolers for them to do the same. Don't even get me started on how stupid I think having to buy performance packs is.
With all that said I'm sure wear items probably aren't covered and if they are it might be in the first 12k.

Again, paper means more to me is all I'm saying. I don't see why anyone would get offended by me saying I trust in black and white paper, when it's in the warranty on PAPER that will be awesome, and of course that will happen right? I mean are you fbodfather willing to state right now that the ZL1 will be covered on track days if something breaks? can we get a backup statement from you? I don't think it's too much to ask now since Al already stated it. |

See - I have NO idea of what you may try to do to your car. There are things such as 'respect' for the machine. I watch guys drag race -- and respect their cars. I also watch some that are clueless and do things that no machine will endure. (...one that you can afford that is) I don't believe anyone's going to write something on paper for you.
