I would not sell her. Like others' have said, look into mods to bring back some retro feel to the interior.

welcome back man.. Its been to long. Several of us have been wondering about you. Glad to see that everything is ok. I would hate to see you sell or trade your car. But you have to do what makes you happy. So with that said, welcome back and the beer is on me!

Z28RockStar - dude I was wondering what happened to you!? Welcome Back!

Keep the 5th gen as a daily driver with all the modern comforts and save up for a 1st gen for nights and weekends! Problem solved

I also love the 60's and 70,s muscle cars (was 16 back then) but this 5th gen has given me a whole new appreciation for technology. I still love mine and only a ZL1 or Z06 could replace it. Maybe. Welcome back.

Wow...tough call.

Personally I like feeling young when I get in mine and turning the key and having it START. I have a '57 Buick for when I want to work on something or worry about stopping distances, caps and rotors, fuel additives, oil additives, and avoiding corn in the gas.

The only way I would do a swap from your Gen 5 to a Gen 1 is if it was a retro-mod car with updated mechanicals and driveline/brakes. These new cars are just so damned reliable!!

That sums it up - you'll know what you want to do and it sounds like you already do.

Your 27? I'm 25, and I don't think we are old enough to feel nostalgic about 1st gens. Maybe 3rd gens, but that would be pushing it haha. All that aside, I love 1st gens. Hopefully Ill be able to afford them both someday, because I for one am not giving up my 5th gen!

The interior already has vinyl; wood and leather are easy to add. Check these links out:

http://www.katzkin.com/ for leather.

http://www.carid.com/2010-chevy-cama...tem-77546.html for wood.

Maybe those will give you some ideas and inspiration so you can get that retro look inside but keep the 21st century technology that makes these cars so great to drive.

Just think how fun it would be to have a totally custom interior done exactly the way you like and the reaction you'd get at car shows. I'm not saying don't get a gen 1, but don't give up on your gen 5 so easily.

I know what you mean,...but try putting a dozen air bags in your gen 1 and see what the interior looks like! lol
