As for what they used ... who knows. In the past they've tried to make cannons out of leather, a tree, sewer pipe, and duct tape. It could be anything

Commits weekly crime

They said 30 pound ball...
18th century cannons could fire 42 pound balls, so it didn't have to be anything technologically advanced.

I was curious to see myself how far off this had to have gone, and figured I'd share. http://www.flickr.com/photos/27990934@N04/6475382431 will show you Google Earth views of the cannonball's path as seen both from the bomb range and from the first house hit; that gives you an idea of the slope we're looking at and how wildly this must have gone wrong. There's also a link from that to the Google Map itself if you care to use it and make your own judgements." |

Thanks for all the answers.
Saw this morning that there is a google earth overhead image of the entire length of travel. Seems interesting that they built a subdivision that close to any type of "range". I couldnt tell but didnt look like there were any "burms" to stop strays. Well as my dad always told me when I did something wrong, usually got hurt, "that will learn ya!" I find all this interesting, just glad nobody got hurt. |
