Just yesterday I got a 4/27 build date! I was never notified of any event code changes even though I asked often.

Never again.
Many of us have dealt with the same dealer for years, buying many vehicles. We thought that we would have at least been treated straight up in this process only to find out that it is all about the making a bigger buck now, not keeping a loyal customer. I have spent over $400k at this dealership over the last three years, I have an open line of credit with GM for $250k that I just renewed. I will wait for my car to come, whenever that day finally comes and after they sell them on Ebay and at a premium while giving me the lame ass excuse about how they don't understand why GM is building all of there other cars for them first. The day I pickup my camaro I will ask to see the general manager of the dealership and ask him to watch me drive out of his lot and remember what the back of my head and wallet looks like because that will be the last he will ever see of either of us again....or any of my refferals. He may enjoy his short term bonanza of $50k for those 9 cars but will lose my yearly $100-150k of sales. Don't get mad...get even.

I ordered on 10/13/08 (actually went in on 10/11). Dealer told me that they were allocated 4 cars & I was the #1. I paid a $1000.00 deposit in August of 2006 ( I now know how stupid this was so please don't remind me). Dealer says order is still at 1100 but says it will be built next week but I no longer put much faith in what they tell me. I just want the car. This whole preorder process seems to be a mess but I admit that I have relied too much on what my dealer told me. I had hopes of a low number car. I just keep reminding myself of how cool this car will be when it gets here & that I am very lucky to even be able to spend this kind of money when so many are struggling.

I am at 3000, and ordered on 10/24/08. I have been at 3000 since March 26th. Hopefully soon...My dealer says mine is in the system to be the first one built for his dealership. He also stated, sometimes the codes do not move, and the cars just show up. This is a big possibility, so, do not get discouraged. You will be driving the roads in your new CAMARO soon enough. Hang in there and soon you will have "perma grin"!

I feel the same way. My family's been buying Chevrolet's from my Dealer since I was knee high to a hooker, and even before I was a gleam in my Dad's drunken eye. I've personally bought seven brand new cars from them since I starting driving (1990 Metro, 1991 Lumina 3.4, 1994 Z/28, 1996 Cavalier Z/24, 1999 Venture, 2002 Monte Carlo SS, 2008 HHR SS). This dealership has been around for eighty years. But the original owner's Son took over and he passed away recently so now the Grandsons are running the show. And they're all about making a buck and marking prices up. I remember when you could walk into this dealership and they knew your name. Now, it seems like there's some fresh out of the water punk trying to sell you a car. They have no idea. Oh well, I guess that's what's got this country in trouble in the first place. No more loyalty, no more compassion for your fellow man. Everybody's about "gettin" theres, the hell with everybody else and customer service and loyalty. It's not with just GM or Chevrolet. It seems like every company doesn't care about it's customers anymore. It's the world we now live in. |
