There should be a yellow sticker that tells you the information when you look down the engine compartment between the engine and the fan.

Well I also want to look at the other features also. Like what came on it when I bought mine used. I put it in one decoder and it only said a 2SS. I have a 2SS RS and it was sold for 34,000. I bought mine used for 35,000.

I know what site you're talking about, forget its name exactly, but it was shut down about a month or two ago.

That would be www.compnine.com
A great site while it was around...

If you want your exact production date and a whole bunch of other info (production and technical), take a look at GM vintage Vehicle Services
http://www.vintagevehicleservices.com/options.html

It'll cost ya, though...

Best regards,

Elie

Don't think the VIN will tell you the options on your car unless you have a dealer run a build sheet. You need to check the RPO codes in the trunk and look those up:

If you really want to see the options that came in your car from the factory there is a metallic sticker inside the driver door that lists them in code. If ya want send me a picture of it and I can decode them for ya through my Camaro White Book.

It just has the invoice price and the MSRP. I don't think it actually has what you paid for it.

Can't you get this info free by stopping at a Carmax and asking for information? I bet you could tell them you didn't really want to sell your car, but they'd type up a deal anyway and pull the Carfax, lookup the VIN, and all that anyway. They're willing to try to buy the car from you and pull all the info if you're willing to sit there and let them pitch.
