Doesn't the ambient temps have to be below a certain number for them to go on?

Temperature controls it (outside. That is)

They won't come on unless the temp. Outside is a certain degree.

I just forwarded this question to my technical department. Hopefully I get something back from them soon.

I've gotten some information back on the question I forwarded for Rcfiddy1. There is not a threshold at which the heated seats would not turn on but the only time that this wouldn't happen would be with a remote start where if the heated seats are set to turn on and the ambient temperature is 50 degrees Fahrenheit or higher the heated seats will not turn on. I hope that helps to answer that question.

mine would start working for a bit and then go back to coming on for 45 seconds and shutting off, vehicles usually dont fix themselves so be ready to take it in when the problem resurfaces good luck bro

I use My Heated Seats everyday and the only time they don't work is if it has set outside and is 100 plus degrees inside. they have worked all summer on My 2010 and now My 2011.This info seems incorrect ,My 2011 Suburban also works even in hot temps, the beauty of the heated seats is the comfort on long rides, not just to warm up in cool temps!
