I did the same thing, I took a buddy for a ride and hit the limiter and it shut down for a second or two, I pulled second gear with my foot still in it and it recovered quick but you definitely loose all momentum. It's very easy to do the engine sounds so nice and it pulls like a bat outa hell it kinda puts you in a zone, it makes you think it'll keep on going then it wakes you up by cutting out :(

You'd have to tune it out, there's no add on to override the factory rev limiter. Maybe you're thinking of a skip shift eliminator?

IMO, the optimum powerband shift points are just below the rev limiter anyways from my experience so I agree with the guy who says to use this as a learning experience of where exactly the car should be shifted. The torque curve flattens out in the LS3 at roughly 4500 rpm. That's roughly where you want to be AFTER the shift to the next gear which puts your shift point, 1->2 at 6400 rpm. Same with 2->3; shifting at 6400 rpm lands you at 4400 rpm post shift. Again, same with 3->4, ending up at 4490 rpm post shift, and by the time you're hitting 6400 rpm in 4th, you're doing 158 at the speed limiter anyways...

Now I've seen conflicting information on whether the actual rev limit is 6600 or 6800 but in either case, you don't need to get there to achieve what you want.
How about this - I am going to raise my Rev Limiter 500RPM and then The Anihilator and Waldo are going to have it out. Let's see who's ass gets sent back to Oshawa!

Will you please stop talking? You've just ruined all our plans for this year's Oshawa Meet and Greet. Now who's going to want to get with us?

Wow, this thread turned into PWA for OG's. I should get out of here and get back to posting Brokeback pics in the California section.

I was getting second gear scratches all the time with mine and never experienced a problem until I had my car tuned. The first time I tried after that, I hit the limiter in first and the car started to bog. I know the Vector tune raised my rev limiter by a couple hundred so the only thing I can figure is that the engine is now winding up faster and I let my RPM's get away.
